Rick Simpson has spent two and a half decades working in the nutritional supplement industry. He started his career in retail at Mrs. Gooch’s. He earned Employee of the Month several times, as well as Employee of the Year. He attributes his success there to caring, personalized customer service.

Rick began manufacturing supplements for his Ph.D.-nutritionist employer in the early 1990’s. Through that experience, he learned about vetting suppliers, quality control and assurance, and establishing a brand.

When Rick opened his own contract manufacturing business in 1996, he brought with him not only his expertise in the business, but also his caring attitude. Rick says that his company’s commitment to excellent customer service and fair prices are what set Simpson Industries apart from his competition.

Bob SimpsonChief Operations Officer
Bob Simpson, Chief Operations Officer, brings his expertise in managing people and systems to Simpson Industries. Bob oversees production and scheduling. His favorite part of the job is working with customers to see that their products are delivered when needed. Bob’s experience includes serving as a Project Manager at DST Software for four years. Before that, he worked for Discount Tire Centers as Director of Inventory Management, preceded by 13 years at Parnelli Jones, where he worked as Director of Information Systems, Director of Operations, Manager of Data Processing and Programmer/Analyst. Bob earned his B.A. in Business Administration at California State University at Dominguez Hills.
Oz MartinezQuality Unit Director
Oz has been serving the nutritional industry for over 20+ years. Oz began manufacturing nutritional supplements for a Ph.D. Biochemist in Southern California in the late 1990’s. Through that experience , he learned about the different processes of manufacturing supplements from beginning to end. Oz took charge of the Quality Control Unit. The department is responsible ot ensure that all materials meet the established criteria throughout all phases of the process. Raw materials, components, and packaging and labeling are examined and tested according to a rigorous written program designed to assure uniformity from batch to batch. Every raw material received is tested for identity and conformance to specifications. Every bottle, cap, and label is examined to assure that they match the written specifications. During the manufacture of all batches of all products, in-process samples are tested and the results documented. If any results fall outside of the written specifications, the product is rejected and the information is submitted to the research and development group for evaluation and further disposition.
