The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) makes rules about nutritional supplements. Their Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations have the authority of law, and require that manufacturers, processors, and packagers of drugs, medical devices and some food and blood products take proactive steps to ensure that their products are safe, pure and effective.

GMP regulations mandate a quality-oriented approach to manufacturing. As a result of working to meet these qualifications, companies are required to minimize or eliminate instances of contamination, lack of uniformity, or poor quality. GMP starts with performance standards, includes training for key management and technical staff, performance audits, and reinforcement of findings on a regular basis. GMP regulations also address other issues: record-keeping, personnel qualifications, cleanliness, equipment maintenance, process validation and complaint handling.

Consumers are therefore protected from purchasing a product which is not effective or which could be dangerous. Failure to comply with GMP regulations can result in very serious consequences for the owners and managers of non-compliant firms, including product recall, product seizure, fines and jail time.

Simpson Industries takes the manufacturing of nutritional supplements very seriously. We are compliant with all GMP regulations, and certified by the FDA. We continue to ensure your products are made to the highest standards.
